worldheritageX was built to treat the UNESCO World Heritage List the way a museum treats its collection: as a catalogue worth browsing slowly. The whole site is set in Bodoni Moda for display and Archivo for labels, on gallery white with a single restrained ink-blue accent, hairline rules, and square corners - the register of a printed catalogue and a world atlas, redrawn for the web.
Every one of the inscribed sites has its own page, drawn from the official World Heritage List and presented in a consistent format: a catalogue number, the country and year, the criteria it was inscribed for, and quiet ways to keep exploring - by country, by type, by theme, or simply by flipping to the next entry in the catalogue.
The design is deliberately restrained and fast: line-drawn category icons rather than stock photography, maps that load only when asked for, and no clutter between you and the place itself.
